Must Watch Superhero TV Shows for Young Adults

Whenever a superhero movie comes out in the cinema, such as The Avengers, it will always attract the young adults. After that, they’ll come home feeling like they want more, they want to experience more of that superhero fantasy universe. However, parents usually are not sure which TV shows are safe to be watched by young adults, as a lot of them can be quite gory. Here is a list of superhero TV shows that are great for young adults and not too bloody or vulgar for their eyes.
The Gifted
The GiftedThe Gifted is a fantasy TV show from the X-Men universe. It tells the story of a family in the era after the X-Men and the Brotherhood are both extinct from a war between the two. Mutants are already recognized yet not accepted by the society. They are continuously discriminated and treated as criminals because of a significant event that killed a lot of people during the war. An ordinary suburban family discovers that their two children are mutants, and has to go on a run to protect themselves to survive themselves from the fear and misconception of other people. They join an underground network of mutants struggling to fight for their freedom in the world.
The Runaways
The Runaways tells the story of six high school students who were once best friends because they always gather once a year during their parents’ fundraising foundation meeting. However, they’ve drifted apart over the death of one girl that used to be in their circle. A year after the death, they gather again and realize that their parents are not meeting for a fundraising meeting, but that they are supervillains that make human sacrifices for a higher being. Their parents are highly influential in the community. Therefore, it is hard to prove their crimes. The kids must join together to plot against their parents and get the truth out to the world.
Supergirl
SupergirlSupergirl has been going on for several seasons now, and its rating continues to rise. It tells the story of Superman’s cousin who, like him, hides her identity as a superhuman. However, she never wants to be a superhero, until one event involving her best friend forces her to become a superhero. She then embarks on a journey to protect her city from evil villains who are after her or after her cousin Superman. It can be burdening to be sad over an extended period of time and not being able to cry. This is because crying actually helps when you’re emotionally distressed, and it can make yourself feel much better after you’ve let the emotions out. E.T.
Steven Spielberg didn’t realize that his movie was going to be this successful when he produced it. He intended it to be a fun family movie, and it is, but he didn’t realize it would touch the emotions of its audience. E.T. or Extraterrestrial tells the story of an alien accidentally stranded on planet Earth and being discovered by three children. You’ll probably shed tears when E.T. finally found a way to contact home and has to leave the children who have become his best friends. As a bonus, you’ll also witness the cuteness of little Drew Barrymore in this movie.
Hachiko
HachikoAdapted from a famous Japanese movie, Hachiko tells the story of a friendship between a dog imported from Japanese and a university professor. It was hard for the rest of the family to accept the arrival of the new dog at first, but over time the friendship between the two melts everyone’s heart.
However, when an unexpected death occurs, Hachiko’s loyalty will bring everyone to tears. The best part is that this movie is based on a true story, and you can actually look up how the real Hachiko looks like.
My Girl
My GirlAnother classic movie from the 90s, My Girl is a romance-comedy favorite in all over the world. It is a story about young love and loss at the same time, and you can already tell why it is going to be a tearful movie. The movie starts by telling a story about a girl living with his father and grandmother, and her friendship with her bestfriend. They eventually grew affection towards each other, until fate decides to take one of their lives away.
The Bridge of Terabithia
Another story about friendship, The Bridge of Terabithia is a mix of drama and fantasy where a young boy is introduced to his new eccentric girl next door. They embark on a journey in a hidden magical country inside a forest, and from this, they support each other in their daily struggles.
